Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who is on a two-day visit to Moscow, has met with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
According to press reports, the parties mainly focused on items of trade and economical cooperation between the countries.
Russia-Turkey turnover for 2008 increased to $35 billion, while in 2009 it decreased by 40% because of the global financial crisis, said Vladimir Putin at the meeting. However, Turkey remains one of the largest economical partners of Russia, he added.
Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in his turn, said Turkey-Russia relations develop also in some other fields, in particular, in military cooperation, and in culture. He expressed a hope that the countries will return to the previous level of turnover to meet $100 billion turnover by 2015.
