	Members of Yulia Tymoshenko's bloc say they will contest in court the conduct of Ukraine's presidential vote after her apparent defeat, media reports say.

	Viktor Yanukovych won Ukraine's presidential election, near-complete returns showed Monday, a surprise sequel to the 2004 Orange Revolution that had cast him aside as an autocratic machine-politician and tool of Russian imperial designs.

	Russia will not send troops to help NATO forces counter Taliban insurgency in Afghanistan, where it fought nine years ago during the Cold War, the country's top security official said on Tuesday.

	Defeated Ukrainian presidential candidate Yulia Tymoshenko "will never recognize" the victory of her rival Viktor Yanukovich in Sunday's closely-fought election, a local newspaper reported on Tuesday.

	The conflict between Russia's ruling pro-Kremlin party United Russia and upper house speaker Sergei Mironov over the latter's disagreement with the prime minister ended peacefully when the sides signed an agreement.
